What is vacuum Furnace ?

Vacuum furnace is a device for heating under vacuum, which can heat treat many kinds of workpieces, but many users still don’t know much about it, don’t know its purpose and function, and don’t know what it is used for. Let’s learn from its function below.

Vacuum furnaces are mainly used for metal heat treatment, ceramic firing, vacuum smelting, degassing and annealing of electric vacuum parts, brazing of metal parts, and ceramic metal sealing.

Function:

1. Vacuum furnace can be used for vacuum quenching (tempering, annealing), which is a treatment method to achieve the expected performance by heating and cooling materials or parts in vacuum according to the process regulations. Including gas quenching and oil quenching, its advantage is that it can protect the metal from oxidation under vacuum, and achieve better quenching or tempering effect at the same time.

2. Vacuum brazing is a welding process in which a group of weldments are heated to a temperature above the melting point of the filler metal but below the melting point of the base metal in a vacuum state, and welds are formed by wetting and flowing the base metal with the help of the filler metal (brazing temperature varies with different materials).

3. Vacuum furnace can be used for vacuum sintering, that is, a method of heating metal powder products under vacuum to make adjacent metal powder grains burn into parts through adhesion and diffusion.

4. Vacuum magnetization is mainly applicable to magnetization of metal materials.

Vacuum furnaces have many different specifications and models, and they are different in terms of effective area size, furnace loading, heating power, etc., so they can be used in fields with different requirements for these aspects.
