Induction heating and quenching heat treatment for steel pipes is a rapid heat treatment method. Compared with conventional flame heating heat treatment, it has many advantages: the metal microstructure has extremely fine grains; rapid heating to the austenitic temperature before quenching forms an extremely fine martensite structure, and during quenching, a fine-grained ferrite-pearlite structure is formed. Due to the short induction heating quenching time, small carbide particles precipitate and are evenly distributed in the fine-grained martensite matrix. This microstructure is particularly advantageous for corrosion-resistant casings.
